Laminate flooring installation in Vancouver, BCA warmer
way to live.
The look you love. The installation it deserves. Laminate flooring for homes, condos and rental spaces. We bring the preparation, underlay, plank layout and finishing details together, so your new floor feels at home.

Laminate installation, from first plank to final edge
The floor you chose.
Considered from the start.
Priority One Flooring provides laminate flooring installation across Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. Bring your selected product or tell us where you are in the planning—we will help define the installation work.
A natural look.
A thoughtful layout.
Light oak looks, warm tones and wide planks each change the character of a room. We plan the board direction, starting rows and perimeter cuts around the space, then install the selected click-lock system with the movement clearances its manufacturer requires.
A coordinated replacement. From the existing floor to the finished edge.
Out with the old.
A clear plan for the new.
Replacing carpet, worn laminate or another finish starts with the conditions below it. We identify removal, disposal, subfloor preparation and door or transition changes in the quote. Furniture, appliance moves and access are agreed before work begins.
Doorways. Edges.
A complete finish.
Baseboards, shoe moulding and transitions connect the new floor to the rest of the home. We review floor heights, door clearances, exposed edges and adjacent surfaces, while keeping the floating floor free to move as designed. Stair nosings and stair installation are quoted separately after reviewing the selected system.
1. Selected laminate 2. Specified underlay 3. Prepared substrate
A better foundation.
A better installation.
The substrate must meet the chosen laminate’s flatness, condition and moisture requirements. Grinding, patching, levelling or repairs are priced for the actual floor. Underlay supports the specified installation; it does not replace the subfloor preparation the product needs.
Installation service. You select and source the laminate. Your written quote confirms the labour, preparation, underlay, installation consumables and finishing items included. Product supply is not assumed.
Made for the way you live
Different homes.
The same attention.
A main-floor refresh, a condo upgrade or a rental replacement each brings a different set of details. Start with your setting.
Family homes
Warmth, from room to room.
Plan the laminate around living areas, bedrooms and circulation routes. Board direction, thresholds and furniture responsibilities are part of the installation conversation.
Condos & strata
A floor that fits your building.
Start with your strata’s current flooring rules and approval process. We review the proposed laminate, underlay, acoustic documentation, elevator access and work hours.
Rentals & managed properties
A clear handover, thoughtfully planned.
Coordinate the replacement with tenancy access, room readiness and your preferred timing. The selected floor’s use rating and care instructions guide the work.

The look of wood.
Your own way to live.
These manufacturer room scenes show the possibilities of laminate. Your selected product, room conditions and installation details guide what works in your home.
Light and connected
A little more flow.
Consider the sightlines between the kitchen and living areas, together with any transitions the chosen product needs.
Warm and expressive
Character underfoot.
Bring your preferred wood look, plank size and room photos. We can discuss a layout that works with the space.

Laminate installation for Vancouver condos
Quiet starts with
the whole floor.
A comfortable condo floor starts with the right assembly and the building’s approval. Bring the flooring bylaws and the product documents into the conversation before purchasing or booking.
Read the building’s requirements first
Strata requirements vary. Confirm the current approval process, acoustic criteria, permitted work hours and any required product documents with your property manager or strata.
Match the underlay to the laminate
The underlay must suit the selected floor and substrate. A thicker or softer layer is not automatically better. Products with an attached pad may restrict additional underlay.
Look beyond a single sound rating
IIC and STC reports refer to tested assemblies. The laminate, underlay, slab and ceiling conditions all matter; a number on an underlay package alone does not establish approval for your building.
A few details make a big difference
More than the
top surface.
The right installation follows the selected product, rather than a single rule applied to every laminate floor.
Moisture & room use
Water-resistant claims depend on the exact product and installation details. We review concrete moisture, spill exposure and any required perimeter treatment. A surface-water warranty is not a solution for a damp substrate or flooding.
Movement & fixed items
Floating laminate needs its specified movement clearances. Cabinets, islands, doorways and large uninterrupted runs are reviewed so trims or fixed items do not pin the floor in place.
Wear rating & care
Wear class, plank construction and the manufacturer’s intended use help guide suitability. A high AC rating does not by itself prove waterproof performance or condo acoustic compliance. Follow the chosen floor’s cleaning and furniture-protection guidance.
Know what’s included.
Before work begins.
Laminate flooring installation cost in Vancouver depends on more than square footage. Send the approximate area, city, current-floor photos and product details for a written installation quote.
| Scope item | What shapes your quote |
|---|---|
| Area & layout | Measured floor area, rooms and closets, plank direction, pattern and perimeter cuts. |
| Removal & disposal | Existing floor type, agreed demolition, removal route and disposal responsibilities. |
| Subfloor condition | Inspection and any required grinding, patching, levelling, repairs, testing or moisture measures. |
| Underlay & finishing | Product-compatible underlay, moisture barrier where required, baseboards, trims and transitions. |
| Access & coordination | Furniture or appliance moves, stairs, parking, elevator bookings, building work hours and separate visits. |
Your quote separates the agreed installation work from flooring supply and any additional preparation or finishing. No square-foot rate is assumed before the scope is reviewed. Applicable tax is identified in the written quote.

A few things
worth knowing.
Useful answers about laminate installation, concrete, condo approval, underlay, costs and timing.
Do you install laminate I have already purchased?
Yes. Share the brand, product code, installation instructions and the quantity available. We review suitability, matching trims, underlay and the site conditions before confirming the installation scope. If you have not ordered yet, product details and room dimensions help us identify the installation questions to settle first.
Do you sell or supply the laminate flooring?
This website focuses on installation. You select and source the laminate. The written quote identifies any underlay, consumables, trims or other items included with the installation work, so you can coordinate your material order with confidence.
Can you install laminate in a Vancouver condo?
Yes, subject to the chosen product and your building’s requirements. Obtain the current strata flooring rules and approval requirements before booking. We review the laminate and underlay documents, acoustic requirements, access and permitted work hours with you.
Can laminate go over my existing floor?
Sometimes. The existing floor must be a permitted base under the new product’s instructions and meet the required condition, flatness and moisture criteria. Carpet, unstable layers or an unsuitable existing floating floor cannot be treated as an acceptable base. We confirm whether removal is needed after review.
Does laminate need underlay or a moisture barrier?
The selected laminate and substrate determine the requirement. Many floating systems use a specified underlay; attached-pad products may limit additional layers. Concrete installations may need a particular moisture barrier or other measures. We follow the product instructions rather than adding layers by default.
Can laminate be installed over concrete or in a basement?
A suitable product may allow it when the concrete, moisture conditions and installation assembly meet its instructions. A basement location or a waterproof label alone does not establish suitability. Existing moisture problems need to be identified and addressed before installing a new floor.
Is laminate waterproof or the same as vinyl plank?
Laminate and vinyl plank are different flooring systems. Some laminate products offer specific surface-water protection when installed and maintained as directed; the claims and exclusions vary. We review the exact product and room exposure. If you are comparing options, explore our vinyl plank installation page as well.
Do you install baseboards, transitions or laminate on stairs?
Baseboard, shoe moulding and transition work can be included when specified in the quote. Stair installations require a separate review of the product, stair construction, nosing system and fixing method; they are not assumed to follow the floating-floor method used on a room floor.
How much does laminate installation cost, and how long will it take?
Area, room layout, removal, subfloor preparation, underlay, trims and access shape the price and schedule. Share the project details for a written quote and sequence. Product delivery, required acclimation and preparation may affect the start date. A universal one-day completion is not assumed.
Do you install in Richmond and elsewhere in the Lower Mainland?
Yes. Based in Richmond, we serve Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, Surrey, Delta, Langley, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody and the North Shore, along with other Lower Mainland locations by arrangement. Share your city and building access details with the enquiry.
